Outreach
Outhouse itself has initiated a number of peer support groups in its community development
and outreach role. These include GOLD (for over 55s), the Gay International Group
(GIG), the Transgender Peer Support group and TENI (Transgender Equality Network
Ireland) when it was getting started, amongst others.
Outhouse links in with the Gay Men’s Health Service to deliver Personal Development
Courses (PDC) and other health-related initiatives. It has also partnered with Age
and Opportunity to deliver a PDC in Ageing with Confidence. Outhouse is currently
partnering with further education establishments exploring opportunities relating
to training in community development work in the LGBT sector. Outhouse has run some
facillitation skills courses for those within the LGBT sector.
