Outhouse is a registered Charity. It is a not-for–profit company and is limited by guarantee. In plain english this means that the asset – the value of the building and its contents – can never be used to enhance any of the Board of Directors personal profit. Should, due to disastrous circumstances, the organisation collapse the building (asset) will immediately revert to another charity and no Directors will gain from its demise – it is legally bound thus. This principle has been forefronted in the organisation’s charter so as to avoid any disincentive for individuals to contribute their resources – i.e. contributors should feel safe that their donations are being invested into a community asset only.

Outhouse is currently engaged in fundraising efforts, through work with State departments and agencies, through corporate donation, through specific activities on-site (in the new Venue 105) and through on-the-ground fundraising.   

All financial contributions, no matter how large or how small, are of course welcome. We will be happy to speak with you about where your money is being targeted, and where you may want your money to be targeted – be that through specific provision of services or utilities, or to specific programmes, to the general upkeep of the premises, or to further building work (at the moment we need to finish the entrance hallway and are fundraising for that specific purpose).
