LGBT+ cervical screening research

The HSE are conducting a cervical screening research study ‘To examine the knowledge, attitudes, participation and experiences of Lesbian and Bisexual women, Trans men, intersex and non-binary people with a cervix of cervical screening in Ireland’.

This study is ‘To examine the knowledge, attitudes, participation and experiences of Lesbian and Bisexual women, Trans men, intersex and non-binary people with a cervix of cervical screening in Ireland’.

This survey is intended to include all lesbian, bisexual women, Trans men, non-binary and intersex people who are of CervicalCheck age (25-65 years). We invite all those in the communities above to participate in the survey which is anonymous and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

On completion, the data from this survey will be used to understand the collective experiences of this community in accessing and participating in cervical screening in Ireland.  We will also explore findings further in qualitative focus groups and stakeholder interviews thereafter. A written study report containing all findings and recommendations will be made available later in the year.

The survey is open for completion between:

9am 8th February – 5pm 12th March 2021.
